Ken's Korner

My partner and I had an opportunity to do a bit of travelling within Saskatchewan last weekend, specifically into the southwest part of our province.  We have never spent any amount of time exploring that area of Saskatchewan and so when we found ourselves in that corner, we decided to extend our weekend by a couple of days and see what sights we could find.

It was a wonderful and surprising weekend!

A warmer prairie climate will bring with it a host of new insect plagues, along with a migration of such lovely diseases as elephantiasis and dengue fever, which normally could not survive our climate. Farmers may have a longer growing season on average, but how will that help if there is no extra moisture to take advantage of it? Rather, production will be an increasing challenge with hotter, longer summers.

Greenwater Report

When we got to the park, Cathy and Freckles went one direction to see the house that General Custer once lived in, and Doreen and I visited the Mandan village. Five out of about seventy five of the earth-covered domes that made up the village had been reconstructed and we were amazed at what wonderful buildings they were.

Qu'Appelle Calling

He doesn't miss too many notes, but thing is, they aren't usually the RIGHT ones. To say the blend of voices is eclectic may be the politest thing that one can come up with. Usually at 5:30 am there is at least one human shouting out the window to SHUSH UP.
