By
the time most get to read this, we will likely be into a
federal election campaign.
It seems that Mr. Harper is going to call one,
regardless of his commitment to fixed election dates.
The supposed reason for this election is that the
PM feels that parliament has become unworkable; in truth
the real reason is more likely that he feels that he can
maybe win right now.

When I was a kid, the flavor of the
day in schoolyard humour was Polish jokes. Though I
didn't understand it at the time, these nasty little
bits of racism arose from the wave of Polish immigration
into Canada that occurred following WWII. Established
societies tend to look unfavorably on recent immigrants
and target them as scapegoats for society's ills - hence
the Polish jokes. No doubt these were prevalent on the
prairies because that is where 60 percent of Poles ended
up. |

We made an offer, and it has been accepted, on a bungalow
townhouse not far from where we presently live. We take possession on
October 15, and hope to move before the end of October. Even though we
just moved a year ago, we seem to have accumulated a lot more junk that
has to be moved or ditched. We are going to be lots busy in the meantime
as we want to do some renovations, and have to fit in a three-week bus
tour to New York.

He doesn't miss too many notes, but thing
is, they aren't usually the RIGHT ones. To say the blend
of voices is eclectic may be the politest thing that one
can come up with. Usually at 5:30 am there is at least
one human shouting out the window to SHUSH UP. |
